Patient Services Representative

Job Description:

About the role:

You will be responsible for all front office activities of our outpatient virtual clinic, with a focus on following up on inbound leads including lead qualification, collecting insurance information, and setting patient evaluations. This person must be comfortable interfacing with patients and making phone calls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive pre-determined groups of prospects back from sales for further nurturing using both the telephone and email
  • Reach out to patients referrals to explain our services and set initial evaluations; may require up to 40 phone calls per day
  • Track and manage prospecting, qualification and nurture activities in Salesforce
  • Process and qualify all inbound leads
  • Verify patient information including eligibility and benefits
  • Make sure enrollments forms are complete
  • Collect patients' insurance and demographic information and document in EHR
  • Collect patients' referring MD information
  • Educate the patient about the patient journey and next steps, including guidance on the company's product and it's components.
  • Obtaining prior authorization/PCP referral when required.
  • Follow up with patients who did not show up to their appointments
  • Ensure all patients are scheduled for follow ups appointments.
  • Fax Plan of Care to the referring physician and follow up on receiving it back.
  • Confirm appointments 24 hours prior via phone call.
  • Answer telephone calls and patient inquiries for the clinic in customer service oriented, professional manner and direct as appropriate, taking detailed and accurate messages when necessary.
    Skills/abilities/competencies required:

    • Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills
      • Highly organized and attentive to details.
      • Can work well individually but in a team as well
      • Adjust easily to changes
      • 1 year of experience in a patient facing role
      • Knowledge of health insurance terms and regulations
      • Comfortable with technology and new applications
