This position is considered remote, up to 1 day in the office at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. DFCI guidelines state that employees must reside in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Rhode Island.GENERAL SUMMARY: - THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:Three years of cumulative experience (internships and full-time) in roles demonstrating the skills mentioned below. Seeks ways to constantly learn our business and its key drivers, creates relationships with stakeholders to promote collaboration, and challenges existing notions and processes. Views all projects as an opportunity to dive deeper, ask follow-up questions, and formulate potential solutions.Examples of projects the Senior Business Analyst will support as part of the team:- Fiscal Year End Reports (ex. financial reporting including revenue statistics, trends and KPIs)- Operating planning processes and forecasting for all revenue generating units- Giving analyses histories (such as for donors, events, programs, disease areas)- Cost of Fundraising analyses for revenue generating units and individual programs- Industry Benchmarking Survey Submissions and analyses- Division Non-Salary Budget and Expenses- Collaboration with cross-functional teams included but not limited to Finance, Information Services, Prospect ManagersTHE TEAM: The team is one of three that makes up the Fiscal & Regulatory Management (F&RM) group. We are passionate about supporting the revenue generating business units in their efforts to fundraise for cancer care and research. Support looks different depending on the time of year! We are responsible for various operational, financial, and investigative projects, as well as ad-hoc requests from various members of the Division of Philanthropy. As a Senior Business Analyst, the ideal candidate will be a key member of this team helping to identify potential areas of analyses and improvements in support of the Division reaching its financial goals. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Support preparation of extensive analyses for senior management, including: - -o Operational efficiency and performance metrics - -o Revenue projections and historical analyses - -o Fiscal year-end financial reporting including revenue statistics, trends, and KPIs - -o Budget and expense analysesSupport preparation of ad-hoc reporting/analyses for Philanthropy and Institute partners, including: - -o Giving analyses and histories (such as for donors, events, programs, disease areas, etc.) - -o Revenue analyses and trends by appeal, event, and fundraising team - -o Analysis of program revenue drivers e.g. donor acquisition, giving channels, event typeAct as liaison with Finance in the preparation of fund reports, historical analyses, and coordination of information required for the Institute's 990; compile information for industry benchmarking analyses, including various annual surveys for external publicationsIdentify relevant benchmarks, trends, and metrics to support data-driven recommendationsManage or support projects for cross-functional teams and initiatives, particularly as it relates to introducing and implementing data-driven decision making across the DivisionCollaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to develop tools such as reports, dashboards, or metrics to measure results, monitor performance improvement initiatives, and elevate overall fundraisingSupport preparation of materials related to the annual and semi-annual operating planning processes for fundraising teamsEnable operational excellence by identifying process improvement opportunities, building new reporting, consolidating data sources, developing models, and performing data analysis; evaluate new opportunities and optimize operations for existing programsCollaborate with Senior Business Operations Analyst to prepare division revenue projections, compile cash flow reports, and assist with miscellaneous ad-hoc analysesMonitor Fiscal & Regulatory Management team email inbox and facilitate appropriate ad-hoc reports; serve as a contact for standard inquiries related to Division revenueContribute to building and distributing F&RM team knowledgebase by preparing process documentation, FAQs, and other formal instructional materials as neededCoach, mentor, and support colleagues to help them grow as professionals; share insights, skills, and knowledge across teams to help F&RM and the Division reach its goalsThis position will evaluate current programs and create and execute approved plans to expand and diversify the donors and participants for the events assigned in order to broaden our donor base and create even more inclusive events. Experience with diverse donors is a plus.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Reports to the Assistant Director, Business Analysis, Fiscal & Regulatory Management. Has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but the position is programmatic in nature and a considerable amount of responsibility in decision-making and completing work-related tasks is required.


MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required with around 3-5 years of relevant professional or academic experience (can include relevant college internships).SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Reports to the Assistant Director, Business Analysis, Fiscal & Regulatory Management. Has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but the position is programmatic in nature and a considerable amount of responsibility in decision-making and completing work-related tasks is required.
