will oversee the CRS business & Guidewire Application Product teams
while supporting the delivery of strategic business and IT
initiatives. Partnering with both the CRS and the Claims Senior
Leadership, they will be responsible for the creation and
continuous evolution of the respective application roadmaps and
strategies supporting the CRS and the Claims business units,
ensuring IT solutions are fully aligned with the overall business
goals, key stakeholders, and customer expectations.In partnership
with the supporting IT cross-capability teams, they will use
advanced technology to deliver innovative and cost-effective
solutions that maximize customer value. The IT Manager Sr will
embrace standard methodologies, including agile, and place a high
value on the various application development and support practices
such as application performance efficiencies, process improvement,
and test-driven development. The IT Manager Sr is keenly aware of
the current and future technology direction of the industry and
aligns strategies with those evolving landscapes.Your Job
includes:
- Managing product teams associated with both the CRS and Claims
application portfolios (strategic and legacy applications).
- Applying performance management practices, including continuous
conversations, and communicating performance to individuals to
address issues. Actively identifying training opportunities to grow
individual and team capabilities.
- Working with IT Security and Risk to ensure solutions
implemented across the US are in security compliance, ensuring
identified vulnerabilities are addressed in a timely manner, and
the currency of underlying software, operating systems, etc. are a
part of solution road maps.
- Collaborating with both internal and external partners to
provide solutions that promote and support the Business and IT
strategy, defining the solution in alignment with the business
vision, strategy, roadmap, and overall company goals.
- Collaborating across GSI IT teams of Solutions Architecture,
Data, and Project Management to ensure effective software delivery
for all GSI development needs.
- Handling incident escalations as part of the Overall Incident
Management Process, including being a member of the Emergency
Change Review Approval team.
- Providing technical leadership and oversight into all major
development projects within the entity.
- Steering initiatives to harmonize and standardize the global IT
Business Solutions model to provide a consistent approach to
software development, dev/ops, and implementation.
- Managing the overall financial budgets, forecasts, and
allocations for the respective application portfolio.
- Partnering with applicable Business divisions to align
technology roadmaps supporting the business strategic
direction.
- Engaging and collaborating with GSI SR IT Management on overall
GSI IT strategic direction.
- Working with regional and global IT towers of Enterprise
Architecture and Infrastructure to ensure standardized tooling and
processes are used.
- Managing the sourcing activities for the designated area of
software development, including the review and development of RFP,
RFQ, and RFI packages.
- Negotiating terms and conditions and pricing for final purchase
agreements and contracts.
- Ensuring that the designs of application solutions are secure
and will fit within the patterns set by Enterprise
Architecture.
- Helping to assure that Munich Re is in compliance with all
applicable federal and state regulations.Education and Experience
- Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in building/leading/developing/working
in a software development setting.
- 7+ years of experience working within the primary insurance
industry.
- 4+ years of experience in Guidewire software development.
- Understanding of product models.
- Working experience of integrations in Guidewire products
(ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, Jutro).
- Working experience Guidewire using Webservices, SOA, Plug-ins,
Messaging, API, EDGE API, and associated technologies.
- Experience with API management and development.
- Exposure to Cloud Infrastructure and Services.
- Experience with large scale transformation projects.
- Experience in managing a team of onsite and remote (Global)
resources required.
- Highly result-oriented and structured.
- Very good command of English, both spoken and written.Knowledge
