It has never been a more exciting time to work in energy and were looking for people who are full of enthusiasm to help us build and run a greener, cleaner energy system for the future.Job PurposeThe Lead Finance Business Partner has a global focus and is responsible for providing commercial acumen, challenging strategic and financial priorities, and delivering financial guidance and insight to our global business partners to enable decisions that deliver financial performance.To support each business/function and challenge the strategic and financial priorities, and to support the decisions that deliver financial performance.Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships partnering with the global support leaders as well as Corporate finance staff and FP&A teams.
  • Work closely with region teams and actively contribute to each business area to help drive commercial and non-financial performance related decisions.
  • Support the management of financial risks and the implementation and maintenance of controls.
  • Effectively collaborate with FP&A and business stakeholders to support in-year and long-term business & financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, and performance reviews.
  • Have a clear understanding of application of GAAP and IFRS accounting and be able to interpret results in both and US/UK currencies.
  • Accountable for the consolidated global function monthly and quarterly performance results with an emphasis on delivering insight and commentary on matters of importance and forward thinking financial and operational impacts.
  • Partner with business leadership in the development of business cases and other strategic initiatives to ensure that all current and future investments are made in line with the business strategy and value requirements.
  • Support the delivery of the relevant business areas financial response to price controls and maximize future allowances for ongoing investment in infrastructure and services.
  • Drive value in the business by exposing opportunities and insight to drive improvement initiatives.Qualifications
    • Demonstrated partnering experience to act as a trusted advisor using strategic insight to deliver tangible performance improvements.
    • Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence and impact the decisions and financial performance of senior stakeholders and their teams throughout the relevant business area.
    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills - proven track record in managing conflicting stakeholder interests.
    • Demonstrated critical thinking skills with an ability to identify key issues and recommend solutions to complex problems using data, logic and financial insight.
    • Ability to deal with uncertainty and adopt a flexible approach to effectively help manage and drive all types of planned and unplanned change that improve support to the business.
    • Understanding of US GAAP and IFRS Accounting principles and strong financial controls skills preferred.
