Party Favors of Brookline, a family run business, has been providing delicious cakes, cookies, candies and pastries to customers in the greater Boston area and throughout New England since 1965. Our on-site from scratch kitchen produces award-winning custom cakes for all special occasions. We are also a full-service party store carrying a complete line of party supplies. We are looking for -a dynamic General Manager -who is passionate about customer service and who has a proven track record of taking ownership and going the extra mile to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction. RESPONSIBILITIESDelivering consistent superior customer service in line with the company quality standardsSupervising day to day operations in a busy retail bakery and party goods storeTaking custom cake orders using a specialized software programMaintaining a specialized custom cake ordering software program, including price and product updates.Managing facility operations, including maintaining office and bakery equipment, scheduling maintenance and repairsSourcing and ordering retail merchandise, packaging and suppliesOverseeing delivery logistics for custom cakesKeeping company website and web-based applications up to dateManaging wholesale accounts receivableOverseeing social media and marketingMerchandising seasonal and everyday merchandiseRecruiting new hires for retail associates and kitchen positionsCreating or consulting with graphic designer as needed for printed media projects including menus, signs, flyers and postersOther duties as requiredREQUIREMENTS & SKILLSBasic administrative skillsTechnically literate and proficientAble to remain patient and calm during stressful situationsAble to work well under severe pressure and to handle criticism wellExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be self-motivated and use initiative to innovate when requiredTeam player to lead a retail staff of 10-15 sales associatesMust be flexible and able to manage multiple changing priorities and projects, and be organized and detail orientedAble to to collaborate and communicate effectively within and outside of organizationExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher. Experience with Joomla! a plusThis position requires weekend and holiday availabilityThe physical demands described for this position are that of a typical retail environment. Ability to stand for extended periods of time in front of a computer screen is an essential aspect of the position. Will also be required to lift, carry and/or move items such as cakes, boxes and merchandise.
