Requirements / Qualifications - Active Registered Nurse (RN)
license required — eligible for travel nursing roles - Minimum 1
year recent clinical experience in PACU or ICU (PACU RN or critical
care experience preferred) - Experience managing high-acuity,
high-volume post-operative patients - Clinical skills: familiarity
with arterial lines, central lines, vasoactive & sedative drips,
chest tubes, and tracheostomies - Comfort caring for post-surgical
patients from multiple specialties (vascular, general, thoracic,
neuro, ortho, transplant, etc.) - BLS certification required; ACLS
or other advanced certifications are a plus for PACU RNs
Responsibilities - Provide exceptional post-anesthesia and
post-operative care for patients recovering from a wide range of
surgical procedures - Monitor and manage patients with ventricular
drains and other advanced monitoring devices (note: no ICP
monitoring in PACU) - Administer and safely titrate vasoactive and
sedative medications as indicated - Collaborate with anesthesia,
surgical teams, and multidisciplinary staff to ensure safe patient
handoffs and transitions of care - Care for overnight boarders
including ICU, step-down, and med-surg patients as needed - Adapt
quickly to a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with a focus on
patient safety and quality outcomes during evening and overnight
