Job Title: Surgical Technician Profession: Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Specialty: General Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days 5x8 hr shifts Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Current CST experience in a hospital setting with scrub experience in orthopedic surgeries, general surgery, endoscopy, podiatry, and urology. License: NH Med Tech license required; if inactive, must apply upon acceptance. Certifications: BLS (AHA), NBSTSA Must-Have: - Current CST experience in a hospital setting - Scrub experience in orthopedic surgeries, general surgery, endoscopy, podiatry, and urology Description: Surgical Technicians are allied health professionals. Their role is to create and maintain the sterile field. They assemble and hand instruments to the surgeon. Some OR nurses may have additional training in scrubbing. PACU/Recovery Room Nurses specialize in post-operative care. The patient population includes pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. There are several OR suites including ENDO and PACU. A dress code is required, including hospital-provided scrubs and closed-toe shoes. Perfumes or colognes are not allowed, and facial piercings must comply with policies. Prior travel experience is preferred. NBSTSA equivalent certificate may be accepted.
