Job Description:

The Town of Brookline Public Health Department is accepting applications for a Shared Services Coordinator to performs administrative and professional work to manage and support the regional shared services program to ensure coordination, support and delivery of shared public health services for participating public health departments; other related work as required.


  • Plan and administer cross-jurisdictional sharing activities across the collaborative communities; provide on-going monitoring of project activities. Assist in developing policies, plans and procedures for shared services arrangement.

  • Prepare, write, and manage grant reports, deliverables, and related budgets; support management of the grant budget and other related budgets; assist with preparation of the annual budget and regularly monitoring expenses and meeting all relevant grant reporting requirements, including quarterly expenditure reports and progress updates. Coordinates shared services meetings and represents collaborative at statewide meetings.

  • Support regional staff serving participating communities in concert with staff from collaborative communities to ensure shared staff fulfill community priorities and meet their responsibilities.

  • Coordinates activities for regional staff including but not limited to the Senior Public Health Specialist and Epidemiologist.

  • Develop, engage, and maintain relationships with key community stakeholders from participating communities including public health, human service and community-based organizations.

  • Work with public health staff within the communities to design and implement program initiatives and special projects to improve health outcomes, including, but not limited to: trainings, communication, education, community outreach strategies, research projects, advocacy efforts, and grant writing.

  • Collect and report required data to MA Department of Public Health.

  • Attend monthly or periodic check-in meetings with Office of Local and Regional Health staff.

  • Assist participating communities in utilizing MAVEN, MIIS, and new local public health data reporting system (currently under development)


    Bachelor's Degree in public health or environmental health science, health administration, social work or a related field; two to five years of related experience in public health or health administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid MA driver's license required.

    Must have experience in program management and administration, preferably in public health or related field; demonstrated cultural competency with expertise working with diverse, multi-lingual individuals and community; strong communication and technical skills, and the ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks.
