The Actuary position will be a part of a countrywide pricing team and will work closely with other actuaries to review the pricing of our Homeowners products. Their work will include countrywide analysis, process improvements, and thought leadership for the regional pricing teams.

The Actuary in this role will contribute to the development and improvement of ratemaking methodologies. This role will lead complex actuarial analyses such as territorial revisions, linear modeling, and other multivariate models.

We are seeking a strong leader with relevant pricing experience in the P&C industry and an ACAS or FCAS designation. This role will lead complex actuarial analyses such as territorial revision, GLM and other multivariate models.Primary Accountabilities

  • Contributes to recommendations and significant revisions to ratemaking methodologies.
  • Improvements to the rate review process through process efficiencies and analytical advancements.
  • Develops relationship with core business partners and provide insights and solutions to address specific business concerns.
  • Explores new concepts, statistical models, and data sources to deliver innovative solutions for the business.
  • Assist with the development of pricing for new products and rating structures.
  • Represents Pricing on various data efforts including dataset development and consultation on data and analytical development.
  • Assist with development of classification ratemaking methodologies and models.
  • Monitors industry and competitor trends to determine potential impact to Actuarial strategies and solutions.This is a range posting. Candidates will be considered at the Actuary and Sr. Actuary levels based on experience Requirements
    • Relevant Experience: A minimum of 1-5 years of professional experience, ideally including work in Property & Casualty insurance;
    • Exams: Passing grades on a minimum of 2-7 Casualty Actuarial exams and desire to achieve Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)
    • Educational Credentials: A bachelor s degree and quantitative analytical knowledge is required; a graduate degree is preferred, but not required;
    • Structured & Logical Thinking: The ability to identify and define business problems and issues, and develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to conduct analyses;
    • Analytical Rigor: Analyze state performance, identify additional areas of research, and recommend improvements;
    • Management Experience: Experience overseeing and leading the work of a group of people is preferred;
    • Software Experience: Knowledge of SQL, SAS, R, Python, Tableau, Microstrategy, and/or other programming/data query/reporting knowledge, in addition, intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel is requiredWhen you work at Homesite you can expect benefits that support your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing.
