Job Description:
Duties: Participate in large scale land planning, downtown revitalization and urban design, new community planning, as well
as institutional and campus site planning projects. Conceive,
design, and communicate master plans and cityscapes. Provide drafting,
graphic illustration, and color rendering services to firm clients as
well as prepare presentation-quality illustrations by free-hand sketches
and computer-aided design. Conceptualize and diagram alternative
concepts while analyzing and ensuring project compliance with
applicable regulations. Perform varied planning, traffic, and
environmental analysis, including zoning, density analysis, site/land
planning, feasibility analysis, and developmental impact assessment.
Prepare project reports and supporting graphics, tables, and charts.
Develop project designs in all phases of assigned planning and urban
design projects. Coordinate with project managers, senior landscape architects/urban designers, clients, and other project personnel
to manage various aspects of project development. Collaborate on
urban design and planning concepts for large-scale mixed-use,
commercial and open space projects. Prepare open space/urban form designs,
implement works contracts, and conduct related studies and research. . Requirements: Master's degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning,
or Architecture or related field (willing to accept foreign
education equivalent) plus 2 years of experience performing mixed use
urban design and planning. Experience must include: Demonstrated expertise
(DE) performing quantitative analysis to execute calculations for
Floor Area Ratio (FAR), density requirements, international zoning
requirements, and downtown mixed-use zoning requirements, incorporating
knowledge of country-specific environmental regulations, and innovative
sustainable design strategies; DE using various software tools and free hand
design skills to visualize, communicate, and draw all aspects of city
planning, including quantitative methods, visualization of data, density
analysis, zoning requirements analysis, and real estate development
analysis; DE performing CAD design using AutoCad, SketchUp, Adobe
InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Demonstrated expertise interfacing
with clients, commercial developers, and city planners throughout all
phases of urban planning and design; DE performing small and large
(100+ hectares) multiple use land planning in international markets.
